after reading the comments, it is obvious to me that many are under deception. The cost , the rationing and the denial for care will be astronomical. facts are documented that the tax rate will reach upwards to 58 -72%, look up facts not the hype.
Find out who gave to the campaigns that are now looking for pay back and to heck with the will of the people.

I’m not sure how I could commit such an embarrassing mistake. You are obviously right about Bloomington/Hill, and it’s been corrected. Hill was the only one of the Energy and Commerce Committee’s Gang of 7 Blue Dogs missing from that list, so it is now complete.

No doubt the real target for the ad here is Baron Hill of south Indiana rather than Peter Welch of Vermont.
On a separate subject:
It’s good to know the dedicated right-to-lifers among the new members in the Democratic House caucus. Thanks for identifying them. They won’t be getting any help from me in future elections.

Could it be that getting health care passed in the House may be at least as difficult as in the Senate?

I really think that a lot of Democratic congressmen are uncomfortable with a Democrat in the White House. I think many deep down really prefer divided government or think they have more power if the GOP controls the House or at least with smaller majorities. Plus there’s less accountability with divided government.

Obama’s biggest mistake may not engaging these Blue dogs early enough in the process, and focusing too much on “bipatisanship.”

Citizens DEMAND a health-care option involving a government option. Doesn’t matter where the Congresspeople are, the PEOPLE are strongly for this, AND will support a tax increase for all to support it. So let’s have no more of the mantra, We don’t have the votes. Get ‘em! Else, feel the wrath of the electorate come next election.

The thing is that if Democrats dont pass healthcare reform after promising for so many years, they are going simply be laughed at and will greatly disapoint their supporters, hurting turnout in 2010. They are going to have to bite the bullet and just get it done this time.

First - please Jack Smith do not post such long comments, you have posted the same thing before.

With regards the blue dogs and the Democratic caucus in general. Since the Dems have such a large number of seats they were bound not to be all mainstream or liberal Dems. It is vital the Dems listen (not the same as capitulate) to the more right wing members they have because to keep a large majority (in both the house and senate) you need most Independents and the Democratic base. If the Dems veer leftwards it provides an opening for the GOP (if they ever decide not to inhabit the Palin extreme). So if the Dems stay moderate they will be the governing party for a long time. Just as Obama embraces moderation (at least in tone).

We spend over twice as much of our GDP on healthcare as any other country in the World. And Individual American spend about ten times as much out of pocket on healthcare as any other people in the World. All because of GREED! And the PRIVATE FOR PROFIT healthcare system in America.

And while all this is going on, some members of congress seem mostly concern about how to protect the corporate PROFITS! of our GREED DRIVEN, PRIVATE FOR PROFIT NATIONAL DISGRACE. A PRIVATE FOR PROFIT DISGRACE that is in fact, totally valueless to the public health. And a detriment to national security, public safety, and the public health.

Progressive democrats the Tri-Caucus and others should stand firm in their demand for a robust government-run public option for all Americans, with all of the minimum requirements progressive democrats demanded. If congress can not pass a robust public option with at least 51 votes and all robust minimum requirements, congress should immediately move to scrap healthcare reform and request that President Obama declare a state of NATIONAL HEALTHCARE EMERGENCY! Seizing and replacing all PRIVATE FOR PROFIT health insurance plans with the immediate implementation of National Healthcare for all Americans under the provisions of HR676 (A Single-payer National Healthcare Plan For All).

Coverage can begin immediately through our current medicare system. With immediate expansion through recruitment of displaced workers from the canceled private sector insurance industry. Funding can also begin immediately by substitution of payroll deductions for private insurance plans with payroll deductions for the national healthcare plan. This is what the vast majority of the American people want. And this is what all objective experts unanimously agree would be the best, and most cost effective for the American people and our economy.

In Mexico on average people who received medical care for A-H1N1 (Swine Flu) with in 3 days survived. People who did not receive medical care until 7 days or more died. This has been the same results in the US. But 50 million Americans don’t even have any healthcare coverage. And at least 200 million of you with insurance could not get in to see your private insurance plans doctors in 2 or 3 days, even if your life depended on it. WHICH IT DOES!

If President Obama has to declare a NATIONAL STATE OF EMERGENCY to rescue the American people from our healthcare crisis, he will need all the sustained support you can give him. STICK WITH HIM! He’s doing a brilliant job.
