You're probably right about OR-04: DeFazio is indeed mentioned as a gubernatorial candidate, and the NRCC is trying to soften up Democrats in general. Interestingly, the DCCC is doing the same thing in FL-12 - airing attack ads against Putnam though he has already said he will not run for re-election.</description>

		<description>The deal with OR-04 (I think) is not that they think they'll ever beat the Faz head-to-head, but that he may be vacating the seat to run for Oregon governor in 2010, and in a swing district with a lot of rural blue-collar voters they at least have a decent shot at an open seat if they get a credible challenge lined up early (like with Leiken). Also, I think there are three Bush 00/Kerry 04 districts, all centered on college towns: NC-13 (Raleigh), OR-04 (Eugene), and TX-25 (Austin).</description>
