Obama can argue all he wants to about who is more of an agent of change ... him, or McCain ... but, in the real world, McCain and Palin are the ones who have actually worked across the aisle ... they are the ones who have actually produced important changes in government ... they are the ones who have actually fought corruption and entrenched politicians, and prevailed. Obama may have used the change slogan first, and certainly more often ... but, in the real world, Obama hasn't changed much of anything.
So, his involvement with actual change has just been with rhetoric and speeches.

Let's keep an eye on this. Gallup tracking poll through yesterday showed the previous 8 point spread down to 6 points, with Rasmussen (a little more GOP friendly) at 5. May just be lint so to speak, or convention fallout, but this coincides with increasingly vicious ads from the GOP.

As disorganized and chaotic as the McCain campaign seems in the middle of this Palin flap, their attacks are getting the media attention. IMO, its time for Obama to start showing some of these sharp elbows he talked about earlier. Attack ads never work....except when they do.

I'm fairly aghast at these charges of sexism from the GOP--even my mother, who was appalled by the media treatment of Hillary during the Primaries (despite being an Edwards supporter) thought Fiorina was full of it when she released that statement yesterday. It's sexism to doubt her experience? Please. And they have the gall to accuse Obama of playing the race card while crying victim over perfectly valid remarks...

This is the way to go - making comments about her "reformist" credentials. The fact that she was for the bridge before being against it and for starting the Wasilla practice of hiring lobbyists to gain federal money seriously cut her credibility on the issue of reform. Add in the fact that she started a 527 for Stevens and you have more material to tarnish her image.

It does seem to be true that McCain has lost control of the Palin story and she is overshadowing the convention, McCain and Obama. Each day spent defending her is a day less attacking Obama. McCain's bump from the convention is likely to be small - unless he and Palin deliver fantastic speeches. There is no evidence she has helped amongst Democratic or Independent women. She has certainly helped amongst GOP men who fantasize about a beautiful gun totting babe. That doesn't help with the respect issue which people usually want in their leaders.
