One thing that surprises me a lot is that he is doing best in the southeastern part of the state.  I'm not sure of Surveyusa's exact definition of southeast Virginia, but any definition would include the Hampton Roads region which is a center for the military and for evangelical Christianity.  It is strange for him to be doing better there than in the DC area.
Also, the Poll says 14% of African Americans plan to vote for McCain, which is about 3 times what most other polls say.  The African American population of Virginia is more affluent than that of most other states, so it may be a bit more Republican, but that percentage for McCain still seems too high.</description>
